Empowering Lives, One Sunday at a Time

We’re here to meet immediate needs and provide lasting solutions for our community.

Who we are.

We are a 501-c3 non profit which includes an amazing group of people, who see a growing need in the community to provide aid to the unhoused citizens of Lakeland. The Unhoused are human beings and we aim to remind them that we are all equals on this planet. We offer support and kindness to people who feel shunned and forgotten.

We set up in Munn Park, every Sunday morning at 10:00 am and provide food, clothing, shoes, underwear, hats, glasses, medicine, hygienic items, and pretty much anything we can get to serve the community’s needs. We also work closely with Homeless Coalition of Polk County to provide direction and assist with housing, mental health care, and guidance. We talk to the unhoused, and we listen. What we provide is shaped by the community we assist.

If you would like to support THE COSMO PROJECT and it’s mission please consider signing up for a monthly donations. No amount is too small!

Our mission extends beyond basics—helping individuals secure housing, IDs, and travel assistance. Guided by a commitment to dignity and respect, we work tirelessly to provide hope and a pathway to stability. Together, we’re building a stronger, more compassionate community.

Amanda Couchman

For over 30 years, I have had the privilege of serving communities throughout the southeast with both grand and grassroots nonprofits. What is unique about The Cosmo Project is how certain I am that every dollar and every ounce of energy spent, is given directly to serve those in need. It is an honor serving the unhoused and underserved people of our community with the dignity and service they deserve. All any of us ever really have are one another. The Cosmo Project is consistently there serving the individuals who are humble and courageous enough to ask for help.

“I stumbled upon this group through social media. I'm so glad I did. I was looking for ways to get involved in the community. I really enjoy working with the Cosmo Project They are truly invested in helping the unhoused. He and all the other volunteers treat the unhoused just like anyone else. So glad I found this group. ”

Jessa Calhoun

When I was living in a state of brokenness and homelessness, Mike noticed me and my Pitbulls. It was due to the Cosmo Project that I was able to experience and participate in change. My appreciation for the opportunity to volunteer and converse with people in need will forever be deep. Respectably I am not interested in remaining anonymous. My name is Jessa, and I would like to thank the Cosmo Project for everything.
